Those wondering what to do about the impending digital TV transition just need to wander into their local Best Buy. The company just announced that they would soon start stocking coupon-compatible DTV converter boxes.

Insignia will be the Best Buy brand of choice, with its analog-to-digital converter box costing $59.99. Of course, if you apply for a coupon on the NTIA’s website, it will knock $40 off that purchase price.

Part of Best Buy’s DTV push also includes a hotline (877-BBY-DTV9), where you can call to speak with a specialist about options for the switch. This spring, the hotline will also be used for converter-box orders and coupon redemption. At present, the coupons can only be redeemed in the store. Best Buy employees are also expected to have extra training as well. Education will continue until the February 17, 2009 transition date.

Insignia converter boxes will be available at Best Buy beginning February 17. Wal-Mart is currently offering an RCA model—but only in stores.
