That little box to the left looks strangely familiar. However, it’s not that $199 Insignia Blu-ray player that we reported on a little over a week ago. It’s the new $250 Insignia Blu-ray player that’s now selling at Best Buy.

The Profile 2.0 player provides 1080p playback in a slightly smaller, updated package. However, Engadget says that even though the new unit now has an Ethernet jack, it also no longer has a media card slot and the Energy Star seal of approval. Other than that, there’s not too many other changes. Maybe it’s not so fancy-schmancy after all.

Still, if you’re hell-bent on buying an inexpensive Blu-ray player this season, the price is certainly right. However, you could also hold out to see what Black Friday will bring—aside from the scary crowds.
