Think your old and outdated technology is scary? Can you tell a good Halloween story out of its terrifying existence?
Best Buy wants to see your pictures and hear your tales of technology horror for its October-themed “Scary Technology” contest.
The mega retailer is holding the contest from now until October 26, 2009, and announcing the winners on October 31, 2009. Your entry requires the submission of an original photo from your home (or friend’s home) of some ‘terrifying technology’ to share, along with a photo caption of 140 characters or fewer, perfect for those who Tweet.
Click here to enter the contest and check out the prize info and rules.
If you’re one of the winners, hopefully you’ll be ditching the scary technology for an upgrade. The grand prize winner will get a Rocketfish with Rocketboost Wireless Home Audio System, Insignia Blu-ray player, Insignia 1080p HD digital camcorder and $2,500 Best Buy gift card (for your own use or to help toward a Geek Squad installation if you need).
First runner-up gets a $1,500 Best Buy gift card, and second runner-up gets a $1,000 Best Buy gift card.
Just to jazz things up for Halloween, Best Buy’s enlisted Zelda Rubinstein of Poltergeist fame to present the contest. Check out the YouTube vid below:
