Creating a home theater isn’t a cheap endeavor. Of course, you can cut corners. However, you shouldn’t have to—at least not with the BenQ W1070.

The W1070 is the company’s first projector to have 1080p and 3D support for under $1,000. Besides those two high-end perks, the W1070 is also ISFccc-certified by the Imaging Science Foundation. That means that viewers can enjoy a perfectly calibrated image via two modes, ISF Day and ISF Night.

Other features include a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, 2,000 lumen brightness, a built-in 10-watt speaker, and support for NVIDIA 3DTV Play, DLP Link, and dual HDMI. It also has the company’s SmartEco technology, which boasts the best contrast and brightness via only as much light as what’s needed. Besides cutting energy costs, this mode promises to increase the projector’s lamp life.

“This holiday season, never before has so much been available for so little. As the world’s first 3D full 1080p high definition projector to be offered for under $1,000, the W1070 provides an unprecedented value,” Lars Yoder, president at BenQ America Corp. “With the W1070, BenQ has again redefined home projection. For the home theater enthusiast on your list, the unit delivers stunning cinema-like picture quality and the captivating immersion of 3D video, right in the comfort of their own home. The W1070 further establishes BenQ as the leader in home projection innovation, and ensures that home entertainment will never be the same.”

Weighing in at just 6.4 pounds, BenQ will start selling the W1070 projector this month, with an MSRP of $999.
