A growing number of companies are designing products to incorporate the iPhone and other popular Apple devices. Joining the crowd is BenQ with its Joybee GP2 pico-style mini LED projector.

The solution features dedicated iPhone/iPod controls to make it easy to play audio through the unit’s built-in 2-W speakers or through external speakers via the Audio Out port. With 200 ANSI lumen brightness, BenQ says users can share HD-quality presentations, videos, photos, and games on a 160-inch cinematic display.

Keeping simplicity in mind, the product has a USB display feature that allows users to connect their computers to the mini projector using a USB cable. Additional multimedia connectivity aids include USB and SD card viewers, a document viewer for Microsoft Office and PDF documents, and mini HDMI for tablets and smartphones.

BenQ president Lars Yoder says integrating smartphone features makes the solution ideal for tech-savvy individuals.

“By incorporating features and benefits that mobile consumers value, the BenQ Joybee GP2 creates a unique combination of performance and flexibility,” says Yoder. “Simply put, for consumers interested in presenting, sharing, and entertaining, the GP2 Projector offers an experience like no other mini projector.”

The 720p HD-ready video capable short-throw projector is designed to be energy efficient while still offering high picture quality. A three-hour battery pack option is also available.

Just in time for the holiday season, the BenQ Joybee GP2 is available now at an MSRP of $549.
