The home theater projector isn’t the easiest component to access. Typically, they’re big, complicated, and ceiling-mounted.
BenQ is looking to make its latest projectors easy to get in touch with, each in its own way. The company just debuted the MH680 and the MH740, two projectors that support both 1080p and 3D content.
The MH680 boasts wireless connectivity though BenQ’s QPresenter app. Designed for iOS and Android devices, this app makes it easy for up to four users to stream content to the projector, without having to be tethered. There’s even 2:1 and 4:1 split-screen viewing options.
The MH740 offers a different type of access, designed to save you from headaches. This model has LAN control for remote monitoring. That means that your installer can remotely tap into your projector to keep tabs on it and diagnose problems quickly without having to schedule a service call.
The MH680 boasts a 10,000:1 contrast ratio and 3,000 lumens of brightness, with the MH740 bumping those numbers up to a 11,000:1 contrast ratio and brightness of 4,000 lumens. Both also feature integrated 10-watt speakers, the Eco Blank mode for when the projector isn’t being used, an Auto Power Off function, and BenQ’s SmartEco technology to extend each projector’s lamp life (up to 6,500 hours for the MH680 and 3,500 for the MH740).
“The new MH680 and MH740 projectors were designed to reflect the evolving needs of today’s multi-application users by providing a wide range of features at a more affordable price,” said Bob Wudeck, associate VP of strategy and business development at BenQ America Corp. “With nearly double the pixel count of traditional WXGA devices, BenQ’s MH740 is available for a fraction of the cost of top-selling 3LCD WUXGA projectors. When combined with the MH680’s BYOD interactivity in addition to the pair’s energy-saving lamp technology, both units deliver outstanding experiences, long-lasting color performances, and tremendous value.”
BenQ is selling the MH680 and the MH740 now for $799 and $1,499, respectively.
