Projector placement isn’t always easy. At times, you may feel like cutting the cord to get a better angle or proper distance. With the new W1500 projector, you can cut that cord. The 1080p home entertainment projector is completely wireless.
This model supports the Wireless Home Digital Interface (WHDI), which means you can set up the projector in any room, all without worrying about wires. It boasts the ability to project uncompressed full-HD 1080p content, as well as 3D.
BenQ has included built-in 5GHz WHDI technology, which allows the W1500 to snag content from Blu-ray and DVD players, receivers, set-top boxes, and more—all without those cables. It even works with mobile devices like the iPad, as well as the Apple TV.
If you want to use the 3D features of this projector, BenQ is offering brand new glasses—as an option.
Other features include 2200 ANSI lumens, DarkChip3 DLP technology, integrated speakers, Colorific image perks, and BenQ’s own SmartEco lamp-saving technology. It’s also important to note that this ISFccc-certified model has a six-segment color wheel and motion estimation/motion compensation (MEMC) technology for a smooth pictire.
“By releasing the world’s first wireless FHD projector with 3D support, BenQ is reconfirming its position at the forefront of the home projector marketplace,” said Bob Wudeck, BenQ’s associate VP of strategy and business development. “The W1500 brings complete wireless connectivity to all popular home theater applications, resulting in easier setup, cleaner-looking entertainment spaces, and lower installation costs. We’ve also included our world-leading SmartEco technology to enable up to 6,000 hours of lamp life, giving our customers access to bright picture performance, energy savings, and a lower TCO.”
(It’s not actually the first wireless home theater projector. This Epson also has a wireless HD feature.)
Packing in a short-throw ratio of 84 inches at 6 feet from the screen, the W1500 FHD wireless projector is designed to work almost anywhere. It’s selling now, with an MSRP of $2,299.
