Axiom Audio’s Algonquin outdoor speaker in Almond Bisque
Spring’s in full bloom, summer’s almost here, so why not enjoy some music while you’re outside at the grill? Canada’s Axiom Audio has debuted its new Algonquin outdoor speaker line just in time.
Suitable for installation in any outdoor location, the company says, Axiom Audio’s compact Algonquin speakers deliver full-range, transparent sound wherever people play, party or simply relax outdoors. Its waterproof build also allows the Algonquin speaker to work well in interior bathrooms or any indoor location that’s subject to high humidity.
The Algonquin speakers consist of a 1-inch titanium tweeter and 6.5-inch aluminum woofer, and the 13.5 x 8.5 x 8.25-inch cabinets are sized for optimal sound output, yet are small enough to be unobtrusively mounted under eaves, atop posts or on patio walls, Axiom says.
The Algonquin features an all-plastic cabinet braced throughout for impact resistance, and a special UV-inhibiting clear coating atop its automotive-quality enamel finish to resist years of exposure to harsh sunlight. To seal against precipitation, the Algonquin is fully waterproofed at each seam. The unit’s rear bass port is angled upward inside the cabinet to prevent water from entering; the port is also screened to make sure bass sounds get out, the company says.
All binding posts on the Algonquin are gold-plated and covered in plastic to prevent rust. To complement most exterior color schemes, the Algonquin speaker comes in four architectural finishes—Arctic White, Almond Bisque, Cape Cod Grey, or Spiced Rum. They can be owner-painted to match specific structural colors and blend in with the landscape, says Axiom.
Axiom Audio’s Algonquin outdoor speakers are priced at $330 (USD) per pair. Visit www.axiomaudio.com for further details.
