Despite being good-looking and sleek, flat-panel TVs might not need to be on display in your home all the time in certain rooms. Whether its for aesthetics or space saving, you may want your TV tucked away in rooms like the master bedroom when you’re not watching it.

Motorized lifts to keep a plasma or LCD out of sight when not in use are a good solution in these cases. If you haven’t seen them in action, check out the latest “Garage Mahal” special airing on DIY Network, which incorporates a solution from Auton into the garage transformation.

For this installation, a garage overridden with bicycles and other clutter has been remade into a tidy area with plenty of room for storage, a nifty shower space for after a long bike ride, and even a relaxing hideaway home theater area.

Auton helps take care of the hideaway aspect of the media room space with its motorized plasma lift. After all, you might not want a plasma out in the open of your garage, would you?

The episode debuted on Jan. 18, but is being rerun throughout January and February. It’s on DIY again this Thursday, Jan. 25, at 10 p.m., according to the schedule.
