Back in September, AudioControl announced plans for two new Ultra HD (4K) receivers. Now the company wants to add the pair to all of the 2014 4K fanfare. Both the Concert AVR-6 and the Concert AVR-8 are now shipping.
Both models feature Ultra HD and 3D pass-through and upscaling for 4K TVs and projectors. The Concert AVR-8 offers 200 watts for each of its seven channels (at 4 Ohms), while the Concert AVR-6 promises 100 watts for each (into 8 ohms). Each one can be used as the cornerstone of a 7.1 home theater system or you can do 5.1 in one room and save the two remaining channels for a second zone in the house.
Each AVR also has support for all of today’s audio formats, including Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-ES 6.1 Discrete, DTS-ES 6.1 Matrix, and DTS 5.1.
Other features include Class H amplification, ARC (Audio Return Channel) support, auto room set up and room correction with equalization, and web radio access. Both also have a ton of connection possibilities, including seven HDMI inputs, two HDMI outputs, two Toslink inputs, USB, Ethernet, plenty of component and composite options, and more.
AudioControl is shipping both the Concert AVR-6 and the Concert AVR-8 to dealers now. Each one comes with its own programmable remote and support for the free iOS Control app. Both models have Ethernet, RS-232, 12-volt trigger and IR control options, as well as support for Crestron, Control4, Savant and RTI systems.
