The latest surround sound processor includes Ultra HD support and balanced audio circuitry.

With the CEDIA Expo days away, we’re starting to see several interesting AV announcements. AudioControl is making the latest one, saying that the company’s new Maestro M8 surround sound preamp has just started shipping.

What makes this 7.1 processor so unique is that it has 4K Ultra HD processing for the high-tech home theater, as well as media rooms throughout the house.

AudioControl has included both 4K Ultra HD pass-through and upscaling capabilities, as well as balanced XLR audio outputs, dual balanced XLR inputs, and HDBaseT outputs. That HDBaseT is a nice perk, since it can extend HDMI signals to remote displays via any standard Cat5 cabling.

Speaking of HDMI, the Maestro M8 has seven HDMI inputs and two HDMI inputs, with Audio Return Channel (ARC). Other features include proprietary room correction with signal alignment, Dolby Volume, RS-232 and a 12-volt trigger, support for AudioControl’s iOS control app, and much more.

AudioControl is shipping the Maestro M8 now. However, you’ll need to contact an authorized dealer for pricing and purchase information.
