Audience Ships ClairAudient 1+1 Speaker Pair
The new set of speakers has a proprietary A3-S driver that's just 3 inches in diameter.

Back in January, Audience first announced its ClairAudient 1+1 loudspeaker. Now, the speaker is shipping.

The ClairAudient 1+1 has a bi-pole design that is nice and compact. However, it doesn’t deliver the type of sound you’d expect from a smaller speaker. That’s probably because it has two of Audience’s proprietary A3-S full-range drivers, as well as two side-firing passive radiators. It’s also worth noting that each of the drivers measures just 3 inches in diameter. However, the way these are laid out in the speaker delivers a very natural, very big performance.

Other features include a frequency response from 50Hz to 22kHz (depending on room placement), Audience’s SSIT SweetSpace TM Imaging Technology, and a unique “S” shape.

“By employing our A-3S driver in a bi-pole design with dual passive radiators, the 1+1 is able to provide an expanded soundstage, extended low-frequency response and offer increased power handling,” said John McDonald, president of Audience. “Most importantly, the 1+1 attains a level of sonic purity and musical accuracy that removes all obstacles between the loudspeaker, the listener and the performance.”

Featuring a high-gloss black multi-angled enclosure with rosewood sides, the ClairAudient 1+1 is available now for $1,800 per pair.
