Everyone’s space is different. And sometimes, you just don’t have room for giant speakers. Sure, you could move the couch or the dining room table — or you could just get something like Audience’s ClairAudient One.
The One is Audience’s latest loudspeaker. It’s also the tiniest loudspeaker in the company’s ClairAudient lineup. Measuring a mere 7-by-5.5-by-7 inches, the One is a single-drive loudspeaker designed for everything from desktop listening to a full home theater setup.
Audience says that the One has the same A3-S full-range crossover-less driver as every Audience ClairAudient loudspeaker, as well as a passive radiator. That A3-S is a 12mm excursion, ultra-low distortion transducer, which means you don’t need a separate woofer, midrange driver, tweeter and crossover network. Everything is packed into the One’s super-small speaker cabinet.
Because it has no crossover, the One is direct-coupled to the connected amplifier. The amp, speaker cable and driver act as a single coherent system, creating a nice level of control over the driver. Other features include low-mass binding posts and Audience Ohno (monocrystal) Auric internal wiring.
Currently, the ClairAudient ONE loudspeaker is available in black and blue finishes, for $995 per pair. Audience says that white and red finishes will start shipping soon. There are also a few add-ons available, including desktop stands ($75 per pair) and Audience Ohno speaker cables ($199 per 3-foot pair or $249 for a 5-foot pair).
