Wires should not limit your audio options. At least that’s what Atlantic Technology is thinking. The company just announced its WA-50 Wireless Audio System, which can transmit stereo signals wirelessly up to 150 feet (or 300 for line-of-sight applications) via a 2.4 GHz radio frequency.

Adding this small device (see pic to the right) to your audio setup means you can cut the cords on subwoofers and even have multiroom audio without the need to rip into walls. Up to three WA-50 transmitters and an unlimited number of receivers can be used in one system.

The WA-50 installation could not be easier. Just connect Atlantic’s transmitter to your RCA audio outputs, and the included receiver to the RCA line inputs of your sub or speakers (the receiver will need to be plugged into an AC outlet and you’ll need an amplifier for each speaker). Both WA-50 devices have a switch to assign the setup to Zone 1, Zone 2, or Zone 3. The WA-50 can also be used to stream audio from your PC or MAC to a larger audio setup. All you need to add in is the supplied USB cable interface.

“We think custom installers are really going to appreciate the WA-50 wireless audio system,” said Steve Feinstein, Atlantic’s director of marketing and product development. “Installers and end users alike are always looking for a way to eliminate those unsightly long runs of RCA cables. Now they have a quality solution. The WA-50 also has applications for rear surround channels, remote zones, and outdoor speakers.”

Atlantic Technology’s WA-50 Wireless Audio System includes one transmitter, one receiver, a UDB cable, and RCA input and output cables. Snag one now for $199. Additional receivers and output cables can also be had for $89 each.
