To fully immerse yourself in a movie, the impact of your surround speakers can enhance the experience more than you might expect. They might not carry the workload of a center channel or front speakers, but your theater or media room will see a noticeable difference with a good set of surrounds.

Atlantic Technology has announced two new dipole/bipole switchable in-wall surrounds to help fit the bill. The THX Ultra Certified IWTS-30 SR and the (not THX Certified) IWTS-14 SR.

Both come as dual two-way driver arrays facing front and rear, so every seat in the room gets the full surround treatment and increased soundfield.

The IWTS-30 SR has two 5.25-inch graphite loaded homopolymer (GLH) woofers and two 1-inch soft dome tweeters; the IWTS-14-SR has the same pair of tweeters, but smaller 4.5-inch GLH woofers.

The front panel of each has a toggle that allows for switching to dipole or bipole operation to suit different listening setups.

The IWTS-30 SR and IWTS-14 SR are available with SRPs of $1,350 and $1,000 per pair, respectively.
