Atlantic Technology’s IWCB-727 THX LCR speaker
Atlantic Technology has this THX thing down pretty well. The company’s now shipping its THX Select2 certified IWCB-727 in-wall speaker system, which it says is the first loudspeaker in any format to have earned the new certification that ups the ante on the THX Select standards. Now that’s truly select company.
Atlantic Technology recently delivered the THX Ultra certified IWTS-30 SR surround speaker.
The IWCB-727 features proprietary technology like Atlantic’s Low Resonance Tweeter (LRT) and Directional Vector Control (DVC), which electronically directs the soundfield when the speakers are placed above or below listening height, so you’ll have optimum audio even if you’re not sitting in the sweet spot.
The 2 1/2-way design has a pair of 6.5-inch carbon fiber woofers, plus a 1-inch LRT mounted in a sealed MDF enclosure.
To tailor the sound to your room, Atlantic Technology’s IWCB line, including the new IWCB-727, has three acoustic controls—the DVC, as mentioned above; a high-frequency energy switch to adjust tweeter level; and a boundary compensation toggle to adjust the lower-midrange output.
The IWCB-727 THX LCR goes for SRP of $1,000 each.
