CrunchGear found this tasty little nugget: The Asus Eee Box PC is now available at Buy.com for $290.99, which includes free shipping. Asus has been popping up a lot lately, making themselves know for the inexpensive Eee PC line. Even cheaper makes us like them that much more.
According to dealnews.com, the price is about $57 lower than it was at the end of the summer, and about a buck less than some of the other prices we’ve seen on the web—but none of those offer the free shipping either. That certainly makes this super-slim mini desktop a nice second, third or “get-out-of-the-house-and-go-to-college” computer.
At 8.5-by-7-1 inches, the unit is easier to move around than a laptop. The specs include an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 80GB hard drive, 802.11n wireless, Gigabit Ethernet, memory card reader, DVI-I output, and the Windows XP Home OS. It also comes with a keyboard and mouse.
