The Asus Eee S101 laptop will include the Windows XP operating system.
Asus just announced another addition to its Eee line. This time, you can take that slim shrieky-sounding (not literally) PC on the road, with the S101.
This super-thin (0.7 inches), lightweight (2.2 pounds) addition to your backpack includes a 10.2-inch LED-backlit display, a 16GB SSD, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11n support, and 20GB worth of encrypted web storage. It also has a 4-in-1 flash card reader, as well as the Windows XP operating system (old school!) and promises of up to five hours of battery life.
The unit has been getting some fair press, since it was first announced this week. However, we’d love to see that cheaper price that made us take note of Asus in the first place. We can dream, right?
Available in copper brown or graphite, the Eee PC S101 will start selling on November 1 for $699.
