Apple Updates the shuffle
The new unit carries the same amount of songs, in half the size.
iPod shuffle
November 01, 2006 | by Rachel Cericola

I always thought the iPod shuffle was destined to die off. It served its purpose: It was cheap and easy to exercise with, but would eventually end up in the sock drawer for a slimmer, slicker unit.

Apple has announced that unit: and it’s a shuffle. This time, they don’t want the unit to suffer the same fate. It’s half the size as the last shuffle, but still carries a meaty amount of music with 1GB of storage.

At half a cubic inch, it sounds like this unit is small enough to get lost in your own pocket. Thankfully, it’s only $80, so get two!

  • $79
  • Available November 3
  • Holds 240 songs
  • Boasts 12 hours of battery life
  • Weighs 0.5 ounce
