Meridian fans are frothing over a new control option—even though they can’t quite access it yet. The high-end audio company says that the Meridian Sooloos Core Control App for iPad is on its way, to provide access to any Meridian Sooloos Digital Media System.
The upcoming app will deliver the Meridian Sooloos graphical touchscreen interface right on a user’s iPad. That means that you can arrange your music by Artist, Import Date, Release Date, and Play Count, as well as show all of your favorite web radio channels. In other words, it offers a way to visualize that music library, allowing users to flip through album covers instead of overwhelming lists.
It also changes up how you search. Of course, there are standard search features such as Genres, Composers and Credits. However, this app also allows users to check out most recently played tracks and search based on Labels, Tags, and even Moods.
Other app features include album details, select and edit modes for frequently-accessed album details, transport and volume controls, and a Zone Selector. There’s also a Play Queue that you can add to during playback using Meridian Sooloos’ Swim feature.
There’s no word on when the Meridian Sooloos Core Control App will become available. The company is awaiting approval from Apple, with plans to deliver the free app soon after.
