It seems awfully convenient that Amazon has unleashed its Price Check app right before the biggest shopping day(s) of the year. Thank you Amazon!
Available for both iOS and Android devices, Price Check can be a real life (and money) saver this holiday season. Before you make one of those impulse mall buys, you can use the app to find out if you are actually getting that good of a deal.
Now, the very cool thing about Price Check is the many ways to search for items. You can scan the barcode of your possible purchase, take a picture, say the name of the product into your portable’s microphone, or just type it into the search bar.
Of course, it you say, “blue thingamajig,” it’s probably not going to be much help. However, it could probably save you a few bucks on more specific purchases.
All prices listed in Price Check are in U.S. dollars and span the Amazon U.S. catalog. Sorry, Canada! As far as which gadgets can get the app, Price Check is compatible with the iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4 devices with auto-focus cameras and iOS 4 or greater. Android users need OS 2.1 and up.
