Heating your home may be the last thing on your mind during the dog days of summer. A new product from Prestyl USA, however, might get you thinking ahead to the rooms of your house that never seem warm enough—places like the play room in the basement, the media area in the bonus room, maybe even your garage. Prestyl’s line of thin-film radiant heating panels can provide supplemental heat to these chill-prone areas. As a bonus, they can double as artwork for the walls.
The panels come in a variety of sizes to meet the heating needs of the room, and can be customized to any color or design with many prints and graphics to choose from. You can even send Prestyl a family photo and have it printed on a panel.
Less than 1 inch thick, the panels hang on the wall like a painting and plug into a standard electrical outlet. According to Prestyl, the far-infrared technology utilized by the panels makes them 15 percent to 50 percent more efficient than traditional heating methods, and the products are made from recycled materials.
Prices range from $350 to $700.
