AMX’s Telephone/Intercom Integration Package
Touchpanels tend to be pretty all encompassing to begin with, but AMX found a way to add to its feature-rich Modero touchpanels, which now let you make and receive local, long distance and international phone calls.
AMX showed off the new digs at this week’s Integrated Systems Europe expo in Amsterdam, which will work for Modero touchpanels with the AMX SIP Gateway.
The Telephone/Intercom Integration Package includes goodies like: Caller ID, call waiting, call groups, one-touch dialing, voicemail, and local and shared address book access.
It lets you make calls using VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and/or analog telphone lines, and with the touchpanel all of your contacts can be organized so you can simply tap an icon to make or receive a call.
Select Modero intercom-enabled touchpanels with the intergration include:
It’ll also ship standard on new AMX touchpanels. Speaking of which, at ISE, AMX introduced a 4.3-inch widescreen wall/flush mount Modero model as well (NXD-430/435). It’s a sleek, colorful alternative to keypads or remotes that’s only 2 inches deep and connects for power and control via a single Cat 5 cable.
The NXD-430/435 have one or five capacitive-touch external buttons, and come in high-gloss and textured matte combination finish in either black or white. The company says they’ll be arriving in May. Check out the NXD-430 in gloss white below.

This JVC projector offers more onscreen pixels than most, and a THX mode.
DPI, Sunfire and SnapAV deliver high performance at a reasonable price.
Sayonara, set-top box? Or will it just take an energy-saving nap?
It’s hard to imagine life without remote controls, but it’s been a long, strange path to the modern incarnation we know and love today.
