Tired of seeing the same old $1.99 price when it comes to music downloads? Amazon MP3 has a slightly different offer—$1.99 for entire albums.

Amazon just announced a plan to offer albums for as cheap as 2 bucks, with its Daily Deals and Friday Five. The two promotions will hopefully make you think twice about opening your iTunes application.

Daily Deals will change every day. In anticipation of the new Coldplay album, today’s deal has “A Rush Of Blood To The Head” available for just $1.99. Look for Coldplay’s other albums throughout this week, with “Brothers and Sisters” available on Friday for just 99 cents.

Another promotion, the Friday Five, will have five specific albums for only $5 each; that special pricing is also available through the weekend. This week’s Friday Five has the Stones’ “Let It Bleed,” Sinatra’s “The Essential Frank Sinatra,” “Raising Sand” by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Linkin Park’s “Minutes to Midnight” and Andrea Bocelli’s “Vivere - The Best Of.”

“Promotions like the Daily Deal and Friday Five are a great way to introduce customers to the everyday low prices, ease of use and instant gratification of purchasing digital music from Amazon MP3,” said Pete Baltaxe, director of Amazon MP3. “For a few dollars and with a couple clicks, customers can have a new album on their iPod, Zune or iPhone for their summer soundtrack.”

Amazon’s site currently has more than 5.4 million DRM-free MP3 tracks available for download. There are also a variety of freebies available on the site, if you’re looking to sample some new music.
