Amazon is looking to make itself more of a contender for your streaming dollars. The company just announced a partnership with NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution, which will bring even more options to Amazon’s Prime Instant Video service.
Thanks to the new deal, Amazon says that the total number of Prime instant videos will reach more than 9,000 this summer. That number includes both movies and TV shows.
A few of the new titles being offered include “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “Billy Elliot,” and the cult comedy “Fletch.” Amazon Prime customers will be able to access these new titles, and others, at no additional cost over the current membership fee.
Amazon Instant Video offers more than 90,000 movies and TV shows for purchase or rent. After this deal goes through, about 9,000 of those will be available to Amazon’s Prime customers.
Amazon Prime allows users to watch movies and TV shows on a Mac, PC or directly on TV with any of the 300 compatible devices. The fee is $79 per year, which includes unlimited free two-day shipping and $3.99 one-day shipping (per item) on all Amazon purchases.
