ADT has always been pretty good when it comes to freshening up its ADT Pulse lineup—and 2014 will be no different. The company just announced a slew of new security options at this week’s 2014 CES.
First up is the ADT Pulse Voice app, which will add hands-free convenience to lights, thermostats, door locks, small appliances and security systems. Besides taking those audible commands, the app can also deliver auditory feedback on system status and confirmation of actions.
ADT is also planning the Pulse Wireless Platform for 2014. This new wireless controller will allow subscribers to tap into lights, thermostats, locks, and small appliances, all without an in-wall wiring. It also looks very easy to use!
We can also expect ADT to add the Remote Garage Door Control into the Pulse mix. This means that homeowners can add garage door controls to the ADT Pulse smartphone app. That way, you can check to see if you left the garage door open from anywhere in the world. It’s also just another layer of security, allowing you to cover even more access points into the home.
Last of this year’s new product lineup is the Canopy app. Designed for iOS and Android devices, Canopy is more about personal protection outside of the home. Basically, it provides your whereabouts to designated friends and family members, in case of an emergency. It also integrates ADT Chaperone, which can put you in touch with ADT monitoring centers anytime and anywhere.
ADT Chaperone is a subscription-based service, but prices have yet to be announced. ADT says to expect all of the new products and features to be available sometime this spring.
