At one point or another, you’ve probably yelled at the technology in your home. Now, ADT is promoting that type of behavior—sort of. The company just introduced ADT Pulse Voice, a new app that combines ADT security with personal voice commands.
In fact, you can even use your voice to log into the system. The Pulse Voice app recognizes unique voice signatures. Now, don’t start thinking that a talented impressionist can break into your house. ADT has thought of that, by installing three personal checkpoints: a secret phrase, state-of-the-art voice recognition, and confirmed identification of a mobile device. Once you’re in, you can use voice commands to arm and disarm a Pulse security panel, control lighting, adjust thermostats, lock and unlock doors, and more.
“It’s all about providing the best possible user experiences for our customers,” said Arthur Orduña, senior vice president and chief innovation officer for ADT. “As more people use voice commands to interact with their smartphones and other devices, it’s critical for us to securely extend the convenience and accessibility of ADT Pulse through voice input. The launch of ADT Pulse Voice is another example of how ADT is using innovative technology to ultimately improve the user experience for customers and meet their individual needs in a way that complements their digital world.”
ADT Pulse Voice works with iOS and Android devices. It’s available now as a free download through iTunes and the Google Play Store.
