Two years ago, Actiontec Electronics updated its MyWirelessTV to add support for wireless 3D. Instead of doing more tweaking, the company is upgrading the entire product, introducing the new MyWirelessTV2.
The MyWirelessTV2 is a multiroom wireless HD connection kit. That basically means that it can eliminate the need for having boxes next to the TV, with all of those HDMI cables. Now, you can install that HDTV anywhere you want in your home theater or media room or elsewhere, with virtually no latency.
Actiontec says that the MyWirelessTV2 works with all HDTVs and most HDMI-enabled cable/satellite set-top boxes, game consoles, Blu-ray players and other media devices. Even more impressive, it works with all of those add-ons up to 100 feet away from the TV, across multiple rooms.
The MyWirelessTV2 kit includes a transmitter and receiver that can operate on 802.11 5GHz wireless right out of the box. There’s no need to discover and pair devices; it boasts a real “plug-and-play” experience.
Whether you’re looking to keep the clutter to a minimum or extend your HD signal to multiple rooms, the MyWirelessTV2 can support 1080p60 and 3D, as well as Blu-ray and DRM-protected content.
Weighing in at less than one pound, the MyWirelessTV2 is compact and can fit into any AV setup. No special remotes are needed, either.
Actiontec will start shipping the MyWirelessTV2 in July, with an MSRP of $199.99.
