Acoustic Research’s wireless home theater 5.1 speaker package
Audiovox Corporation’s Acoustic Research brand is delivering what it calls the industry’s first high-performance wireless 5.1 speaker package that includes a state-of-the-art, ultra-robust wireless rear channel system.
AR’s WHT6024 Wireless Home Theater System features five voice-matched satellite speakers that utilize dual 3-inch drivers and a 1/2-inch tweeter in a high-rigidity aluminum-extruded cabinet. The system’s subwoofer is a high-output 10-inch, 125-watt amplifier designed to deliver the full impact of any performance, the company says.
The WHT6024 system employs digital spread spectrum 2.4 GHz circuitry with a Quality of Service (QOS) channel that continuously and seamlessly eliminates any potential interference, according to Acoustic Research. It is ideal for operating in classic hostile environments around cordless phones, 802.11 computer networks and microwave ovens, the company says, and the sound features uncompressed 20 Hz to 20 KHz, wide-separation “CD” performance with a 50-watt RMS power amplifier into each rear channel.
The WHT6024 will be available starting in April with an MSRP of $799. Visit Acoustic Research at Audiovox’s Web site for more.
