High-end audio is alive and well across the pond, and lucky listeners in our own Pacific Northwest will have a chance to hear it for themselves.
Stereotypes Audio, a 15-year-old hi-fi shop in Portland, Ore., will host the U.S. unveiling of the new Radiance loudspeaker line from British manufacturer Acoustic Energy.
The special event Acoustic Energy open house—refreshments will be served—at Stereotypes will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 16.
Acoustic Energy has recently released the likes of $5,000/pair limited edition AE Mk III SE bookshelf speaker that served notice that the company is still well-entrenched in the audiophile world. The company says some of the technological improvements that went into the new AE Mk III SE were used in the Radiance line, which was developed over three years.
So it should be a pretty suitable match that Stereotypes is the place to see, er, hear the Radiance models. The dealer recently had an open house for vinyl legend Rega and its P7 turntable (and Saturn CD player), and new to the shop are power products products from manufacturer Shunyata Research.
There should be plenty of demo music at the ready during the open house, but hey, never hurts to carry some of your own faves to events like this. Happy listening.
