A little more than $1,000 bucks will get you a whole lot of computer these days. Case in point: Acer’s new Aspire desktop PC and widescreen display—featuring SensorTouch technology—that the company announced today.

The Acer Aspire X3200 desktop PC and Acer P244W 24-inch LCD display combo will have you in multimedia nirvana, at just $679 and $339, respectively.

The X3200 is loaded ready to handle all of your music, photos and video files, fueled by an AMD Phenom X3 8450 processor with triple-core power and Nvidia GeForce 8200 chipset. You get an integrated Blu-ray drive, Dolby Home Theater surround sound and HDMI port for high-quality A/V entertainment. The PC comes with Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit with Service Pack 1 and new AMD Live! Explorer.

With fast-system response 4GB DDR2 memory, a 640GB SATA II hard drive and nine USB 2.0 ports (five in front, four in rear), the storage and connection options are pretty plentiful as well to handle today’s multimedia demands without crashing and burning.

Even if you’re not routing all of your media around the house, Acer’s new LCD display option makes for a pretty slick viewing option with the new desktop. The P244W 24-inch display has a native 1920 x 1080 resolution, 20,000:1 contrast ratio, the SensorTouch touch-sensitive surface for one-touch convenience, and it’s even Energy Star compliant.

The whole shebang provides a nifty new high-def multimedia hub for you at just over $1,000.
