There is no better time of year to gather around the tube for some good, old-fashioned family fun. How much more fun would this year’s movie marathon be in 3D? Not only has equipment come down in price, but we’re seeing a slew of movies finally become available for general release.

Of course, there are plenty of family films that probably aren’t worth a rental, let alone the premium price of Blu-ray 3D disc (Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore instantly comes to mind). Here are a few of our favorites that will entice the entire family and make sure that you get a nice return (and possibly a few hugs) for that new investment.
