Hip-hop artist 50 Cent (aka Curtis Jackson) calls his G-Unit headquarters his “home away from home.”
After watching this video documenting the installation of his high-tech, automated office, you’ll know why.
Audio Video Invasion decked out the office with electronics and Control4 automation, capturing the installation on video. 50 Cent says he now enjoys listening to music at the office vs. in the studio because “it sounds so good.” He also says he plans to blast the volume on the system so he can “shake the windows.”
The video begins with some background on 50 Cent’s successful career, then jumps into the installation (starts at 0:46). He has a huge flat panel, Blu-ray player, thermostat control, motorized shade control and in-ceiling surround-sound speakers as 50 Cent looks on.
All the equipment runs on a Control4 platform, and AVI tries explaining the control functions using an iPad. 50 Cent initially looks intimidated by the iPad, wondering if his fumbling with the interface is being caught on camera.
In the end, clearly wowed by the system, he even proudly says, “Puffy don’t got that” (in reference to rapper Sean “Puffy” Combs.)
Let me begin by telling you that the video with the AVI team and 50Cent is amazing. Not many AV companies have something like that!! I saw your website Very Very impressive, photos, video and very informative….

Most famous people have a team of assistants between them and the clients. Very cool that you got 50Cent (11 cents more than me) to be a part of the video.
Hopefully the reality show gets picked up (if it hasnt already). It will bring industry awareness to the masses. Why didnt CEDIA think of it?
