16 Scary DVDs We’re Waiting for on Blu-ray
Not all of our favorite scary films have been transferred to high-def goodness, so here are a bunch you can find on DVD that we'd love to see out on Blu-ray.
October 30, 2009 | by EH Staff

We’ve tackled the list of our favorite scary movies that have been released on Blu-ray. But here are 16 more favorites that you can’t find (or may already be out of print) in the high-def format.

Sure, we’ll cut the industry some slack for not restoring a 1929 horror classic, but since the likes of The Wizard of Oz and Snow White have already been restored, we’re hoping the same could be done for Nosferatu so we can really see all that grayscale shadow detail.

In previous years we’ve seen some good scary releases coincide with this time of year. Not quite as many this year, but we’ll hold out hope for 2010. Maybe some of these must-view films will even be out before next Halloween. As with the Blu-ray titles, these are from our in-house horror buff Manuela Rosengard, and she’s gone with some traditionally scary movies and some other edge-of-your-seat type of films ... not just gorefests, since the truly scary stuff doesn’t always require gratuitous violence.

So hold on to your popcorn and enjoy this list of 16 scary movies on DVD that we’re waiting to see on Blu-ray.
