Two weeks ago, Sony unleashed the Move on gamers everywhere. The PlayStation Move is the latest entry into the motion-gaming market, allowing PS3 users to get in the game, as well as get a little sweaty.
Without a doubt, this is PlayStation’s answer to the Wii. However, the two are slightly different. First of all, where Wii games have a bit of a cartoony appearance, some of the Move selections are almost too lifelike.
Second, we have the Move setup, which is more than just that magic wand controller. It also includes the PlayStation Eye camera and the Move navigation controller. The Move motion controller features motion sensors, a “color-changing sphere,” hard buttons, and vibration feedback. The controller works with the camera to detect exact movements and translate them to gaming action. The navigation controller adds an analog stick, directional buttons and two face buttons into the mix.
Games are slowly trickling out. If you’re having a hard time finding something to flail to right now, wait until the holiday season. For now, a Mr. Microphone-style controller may not motivate you to get off the couch, let alone invest more in that gaming system. However, a few of the upcoming games certainly should. Here are a few to entice you to Move.
