Tweeter Won’t Reopen After All
After some rumors, it looks like employees and customers are out of luck.
Tweeter Closing
Tweeter stores mysteriously closed at the beginning of December.

If you were waiting for Tweeter to reopen to pick up a check or merchandise you paid for, it looks like you’ll be waiting a long time.

Boston.com says that it’s highly unlikely that Tweeter stores will reopen to complete any remaining business. There had been recent rumors that the company would open stores back up so that customers could pick up merchandise that had been paid for.

“No one, in my opinion, is going to lose money that I have knowledge of,” said George L. Miller, the bankruptcy trustee. In other words, if you are one of those people, hopefully, you paid by credit card. Employees, however, aren’t as lucky. One trustee also stated that unpaid employees were probably out of luck; there’s no money available.

How about opening back up and letting those employees pick from the “prize closet?” It’s not going to pay a mortgage, but there could be some eBay-worthy items in those stores somewhere. However, the company realizes this as well; apparently, remaining stick will be sold online or elsewhere.

Tweeter was first sold to liquidators in late October. Overall, considering that stores have been closed for a few weeks now, the company has sure received a lot of press—mostly bad.

The president of Service Net even told Tweeter to stop selling warranties in late August but they continued to sell them anyway.

Tweeter Warranty, Tweeter Service, Tweeter Installation Help for NJ, Pa, & De customers!

Tweeter closed all stores, but their expert design, installation and service technicians are still serving customers through A/V Elite. We can assist with existing systems in need of service, programming or new system design and installation. We can also finish work that was inprocess as Tweeter closed their stores.
I am an ex-Tweeter Installation Field Supervisor responsible for running the installation department in NJ, Pa, and Delaware district for Tweeter. I left Tweeter during their first Chapter 11 filing, and began A/V Elite. We are licensed and insured, and can asssist with existing warranty contracts, as well as Phone, CableTV, Satellite, Security, Computer Networking & Home Automation or Whole House Distribution.

You had better check that warranty. It has been known for some time now that Tweeter was selling warranties from September 1st until November 10th but not turning the money over to Service Net the warranty provider. The president of Service Net even told Tweeter to stop selling warranties in late August but they continued to sell them anyway. I’d like to know where that money ended up. can anyone say consumer fraud?
